Panasoca fails to qualify to Middle League

Pan Africa Soccer Academy, after winning their second game against Tsame Young Stars failed to progress to Middle League after losing 2-0 to Homestars Fc.

The last Central zone Sub Middle League matches were also all played at the Ho Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 24.

The early kick off match at 1pm between Homestars and Panasoca saw the latter tensed in the first 10 minutes with the former creating chances.

The game then became balanced but with very bad referee decisions. Assistant referee flagged for infringement on Stephen Essaw after he dispossess his opponent. This got the bench of Panasoca and some fans wild including Head Coach Asamoah Dzifa, who walked towards the Assistant referee with anger.

Jones Mensah’s chance to shoot was timely cleared away by Homestars defender in the 18’. Raymond Grippman received a knock in a tussle for the ball 2 minutes later. Homestars had a freekick at the edge of the penalty area, but was poorly converted in the 27’.

35’ on, Raymond was stretched off after another knock but goes back in to play after treatment.

Coach Asamoah Dzifa then made his first change, 5 minutes later, as Humble Tutu went in for Michael Degamakpor. Roland Grippman was then cautioned after committing a foul on the stroke of half time.

The first half ended goalless, a result that favors Homestars, as they have won 2 matches.

In the second half, however Referee Moro Iddrisu awarded Homestars a doubtful penalty, in the first minute. Nii Quartey, Captain of Homestars steps up to convert the penalty, sending Dorkenoo to the opposite side in the 47’.

The referees continued to take decisions which went against Panasoca. Stephen was wrongfully flagged off in the 50’. The bench of Panasoca continued to boil with rage and anger as some fans started hooting at the referees. 5 minutes later, Julius Addai replaced Edem Kwao in the middle and receives a yellow card few minutes after. Panasoca continued to fight for the equalizer, with Stephens 70’ shot after going pass two defenders, went inches away.

Homestars got a cushion with 10 minutes to play, with a powerful low shot into the left corner of the post by jersey number 2 man.

It was all over for Panasoca at this stage, as the 5 minutes added time couldn’t get them pulling one back.

Meanwhile, Area 51 Fc lost 2-0 against Tsame Young Stars in the second game of the day.

Homestars thus qualify to the Middle League from the Central zone.

In the Southern zone A, Agbozume weavers accumulated 7 points to progress, while Adidome Unity Stars had it 9 points out of 3 games. The last zone, saw Great Warriors making it with 6 points and 4 goals as against Likpe Heroes 6 points and 2 goals.
