Panasoca in contention for Middle League

Pan Africa Soccer Academy has put themselves I contention for Middle League qualification after 1-0 win against Tsame Young Stars in the ongoing Central Sub Middle League on Saturday, September 23, 2017.

The day two matches which were honored at the Ho Sports Stadium earlier saw Homestars beating Area 51 Fc 2-1.

Panasoca who needed a convincing after their unfortunate 2-1 lost to Area 51 Fc on Friday, started the game with optimism as their top scorer Stephen Essaw’s shot in the first minute missed the post by inches.

They however allowed Tsame grow into the game with confidence in the second quarter. Goalkeeper Richmond Dorkenoo made a wonderful save denying Tsame from taking the lead in the 15’.  2 minutes later, Stephen found himself in a good position to score, but his flying shot went over the bar. Panasoca wasted another chance in the 25’, as Jones Mensah’s rebound header from a corner went off target. Dorkenoo had to head away a 50/50 ball situation, 2 minutes on. Humble Tutu’s nice curling freekick outside the penalty area, was parried away by Tsame Goalkeeper in the 30’. Moments after, Stephen steals a ball away from the goalkeeper who was off his post, but his long ball was cleared off the line by the a defender.

Raymond Grippman, then made a timely tackle in the defence, after which Robert Ashie’s header kept flying over the bar, although he was flagged offside.

Before the break, Stephen shot again but it went inches away after which Dorkenoo had a tip from a header which went for a corner.

6 minutes into the second half, Robert went pass two defenders but failed to finish, as shot went wide. Panasoca, who were once again dictating the pace of the game made 3 changes, bringing in Philip, Wesley and Reginald. Several chances went begging as the time ticks.

5 minutes to the end of proceedings however, Roland Grippman made a nice cross from the edge of the box which was controlled and expertly kicked into the net by Reginald.

It brought so much joy to fans and the Panasoca bench alike, as there were complains of the numerous missed scoring opportunities.

The win was a big relief to the technical handlers of Panasoca, yet not satisfied with the goal margin.

The Determined boys must not beat Homestars who are already having 6 points to make it to the Main Middle League. A game between Area 51 Fc and Tsame Young Stars will come off at the Barracks park. Both matches will kick off simultaneously at 3pm on Sunday, September 24, 2017.
