Panasoca secures a slim win against Diamond

Pan Africa Soccer Academy had to score in added time to secure the maximum 3 points in their match day 9 against Diamond Stars Fc at the Ho Sports Stadium.

The match which was played on Saturday due to an Asogli Yam festival game on Sunday, saw the away team holding Panasoca to 0-0 till the 91st minute.

Roland Grippman, converted from the spot in the 92’ after Jones Mensah was brought down in the penalty area when he beat his maker. The build up to the penalty was a sweet one from Panasoca who were 3 wasteful upfront.

Humble Tutu and Reginald Commodore had a bad day on Saturday and had to be replaced. General Captain, Alfred Ayiku came in the second half to hold the midfield to ensure better plays that could produce goals.

Diamond Stars Fc who lost at home 4-1 to Panasoca on match day 2 were tight up in the defence, knowing what their opponents are capable of but managed to concede 1.

Head Coach, Asamoah Dzifa was disappointed in their performance, especially with the attackers for not being prolific enough.

“I am very much disappointed in my boys. I had a win but I am not happy about it. They should have played better, and scored more goals with the number of chances they created. I am not a fan of penalty goal. Although it gave me the 3 points, this is not the kind of results I needed. I have to work on few things for a better game next time.”

The win keeps Panasoca at the top of the group B of the Central zone with 17 points, 4 away from Area 51 Fc, who had a stand bye this weekend.

The last game for the group stages will come off this weekend and it will see Panasoca travelling to Adaklu Kodzobi to face off with Golden Warriors.
